Brief description
This is a project that brings together three of the most important art galleries in the world. Thanks to the educational programs of the Museo Nacional del Prado, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, culture is also much more accessible. for Physical disability The three museums have adapted services and removed barriers so that people in wheelchairs can comfortably visit the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions and attend the conferences, concerts and presentations that take place. They also make wheelchairs and canes available to visitors who request them.
For Hearing Impairment the museums organize visits with with Spanish Sign Language (LSE) interpreter and magnetic induction loops. It also offers the possibility of requesting an LSE Interpreter service for any activity in the Education Area. It should be noted that in the auditorium the last 5 rows have a magnetic induction loop for people with hearing aids.
In addition, they have accessible devices for the visit such as the magnetic loop for audio guides and the Signoguía, a portable multimedia device that offers the possibility of taking an autonomous tour of different masterpieces through videos in Spanish Sign Language (LSE) and subtitles in Spanish. For Visual disability, they have adapted audio descriptions of a selection of masterpieces so that people who are blind or have low vision can make a free visit. Of course, not all have podotactile signage, so it is recommended to always go with a sighted companion.
For Intellecual disability, Specific activities are organized for care centers for people with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Alzheimer’s disease or acquired brain damage. Also, in each school year it proposes various activities and workshops aimed at groups of Occupational Centers and Special Education Colleges.
