Brief description
This document from the Barcelona city hall defines and explains the bases and the criteria to eliminate the barriers of the communication and facilitate access to contents, to make information and content fully accessible of an exhibition to people with visual limitations, with hearing problems and comprehension difficulties. it define the steps to guarantee accdess to culture for hte ske of normalization and integration, for hte respect of hte dignity of people and thir right to access to the culture.
This Accessible Exhibitions manual aims to help move towards this goal: to remove the communication barriers that prevent access to cultural content for a part of the population. This publication is an initiative that has arisen during the joint work process developed in recent years between the technicians of the Institute of Culture of Barcelona and the Institute of Persons with Disabilities, with the aim of improving communicative accessibility in museums municipal. The structure in the form of a decalogue, with the ten points that must be kept in mind to make accessible exhibitions, aims not only to invite reflection, but above all to provide guidelines and practical recommendations regarding specific aspects.
